Walking the talk

Sustainability is today’s measure of luxury. Our new standard for quality marries timeless design with our personal values and elevates our lifestyle. This year, green developer ARTHALAND brings city dwellers furnished homes that embody this new luxury.
In an exclusive offer this February, the one-bedroom units of ARTHALAND’s Lucima will come fully furnished with a curated selection of IKEA products at no extra cost.
Sustainable from start to finish
Located in Cebu Business Park, Lucima is a 37-story development envisioned to be the first quadruple-certified sustainable high-rise residential condominium in the country. Taking pride in its 100% certified sustainable portfolio, ARTHALAND puts thoughtfulness at the heart of its homes. It invests in elegant functionality and eco-friendly efficiency—two features that IKEA has also become known for.
A signature development by ARTHALAND and ARCH Capital, Lucima stands at the corner of Cardinal Rosales Avenue and Samar Loop in Cebu Business Park in this artist’s perspective.
Designed by Saraiva + Associados, Lucima’s building was made to engage with its surroundings. Apart from optimizing daylighting and natural ventilation, it utilizes multipurpose amenities such as its rainwater management system and potager garden.
Another key in its construction is the selection of energy-efficient materials and equipment like low-E double-glazed glass, low-E lighting fixtures, low-flow plumbing fixtures, VRF air conditioning system, and energy recovery ventilators.

“To complement the building’s sustainable features, we meticulously handpicked the right type of furniture and accessories from IKEA, plus general appliances such as an LED TV, a refrigerator, and a washer-dryer combo to make your home more comfortable,” says Oliver L. Chan, the senior vice president and head of sales of Arthaland Corporation. “We also understand that everyone has different tastes so we have come up with three design inspirations to choose from. These are Modern Tropical, Light & Airy, and Urban Dweller.”
Lucima combines all these to provide residents with a hassle-free move-in, reduced electric and water bills, as well as better indoor air quality—without sacrificing its sophisticated look.
What IKEA really brings to ARTHALAND's table
IKEA products are designed with new circular principles, with the goal to only use renewable and recycled materials in their products by 2030. The efforts of IKEA more than just offer smarter products, but also create a movement for a better, more sustainable everyday life.
“As with ARTHALAND, we are determined to fight climate change. We are paving the way for more sustainable homes for many through our affordable product offerings. Our IKEA design team enjoyed working closely with ARTHALAND’s technical team in conceptualizing and bringing the designs to life,” says Georg Platzer, director of Ikano Philippines Inc.
On the other hand, ARTHALAND is committing to a net zero development portfolio by 2030. This requires investing in highly energy-efficient properties that are to be powered from on-site or off-site renewable energy sources. Offsetting remaining carbon balance is also part of the roadmap.
Lucima is a glimpse into the future both companies are moving towards. It has earned pre-certification for LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold by the U.S. Green Building Council. It is currently vying for WELL™ (WELL Building Standard), EDGE® (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies), and BERDE (Building for Ecologically Responsive Design Excellence) certifications.
