ARTHALAND proudly served as the Co-Presenter of this year’s International Care Ministries (ICM) Manila Banquet held recently at the Ballroom of Shangri-La The Fort in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.
With the theme Hope Shines Through, this impactful fundraising event empowers ICM to bring transformative hope to tens of thousands of ultra-poor families across the Philippines. Apart from their respective donations, the guests in attendance, composed of Manila’s most influential business leaders and social personalities, philanthropists, and top leadership from reputable organizations, eagerly participated in the silent auction of works of art by distinguished and promising local and foreign artists.
“As the country’s foremost green developer, we are deeply committed to contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Addressing extreme poverty, which is at the heart of SDG 1, remains one of humanity’s most urgent and daunting challenges, especially in developing countries like ours. We commend ICM for their thoughtful and comprehensive approach in transforming the lives of those most in need,” said Oliver L. Chan, Senior Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer of ARTHALAND.
ICM is a 32-year-old non-profit organization that has been running poverty-alleviation programs in Palawan, Kalibo, Iloilo, Bacolod, Dumaguete, Cebu, Bohol, Tacloban, Dipolog, Koronadal, General Santos and Davao. Its core strategic program, called Transform, is designed to address the wide range of needs faced by families living in poverty. Success is achieved through HOPE, which is an acronym for Heart, Opportunity, Physical, and Education. Heart is all about building hope and helping people have the confidence to imagine a better future. Opportunity covers small business skills, savings group formation, and community-led enterprises. Physical is about improving family health through health education, medical treatment, medical mercy and the constant engagement of Community Health Champions. Education empowers parents to help their children be successful at school by making learning a part of family life. To date, the program has helped over 2 million ultra-poor Filipinos.
Representatives from Arthaland are looking forward to their scheduled visit to one of ICM’s communities in the Philippines. They aim to explore opportunities to deepen and expand the company's support for the organization’s transformative initiatives.
