ARTHALAND and Universidad de Zamboanga promote sustainability through mutual learning and collaboration

ARTHALAND, the country’s foremost green developer, and Universidad de Zamboanga (UZ), Western Mindanao’s largest private educational institution committed to bringing quality and accessible education, have vowed to work together to advance sustainability goals. This came about following a benchmarking visit by UZ delegates to ARTHALAND which included a tour of some of its key developments.

It all started with a chance encounter between the leadership of both companies where they discovered a shared commitment to sustainability – ARTHALAND with its 100%-certified development portfolio and sustainable real estate practices, and UZ with its goal to achieve a green campus and drive to inculcate sustainability in its operations and curriculum. Eager to learn more, UZ administrators traveled to Manila where ARTHALAND demonstrated how it integrates sustainability across its processes beginning from design, to construction and then in its operations. They also learned about the role and importance of green financing as well as the many corporate socio-civic initiatives ARTHALAND is doing to drive positive environmental impact in communities.

During the tour, they were delighted to see up close and personal the world’s first Net Zero Carbon building in the Arthaland Century Pacific Tower and were impressed about how sustainable living is being practiced in Arya Residences, the country’s first and only residential building to be certified LEED Gold and BERDE 4-Stars. The tour capped off with a visit to the Eluria Show Suites which showcased unit-level sustainable and wellness features coupled with high quality and superior design. For UZ, this learning journey is not about imitation but of transformation. Their goal is to adapt and innovate based on what is best for their region
