ARTHALAND donates e-shuttles to promote sustainable commuting in Ateneo

ARTHALAND, the country’s foremost green developer, is donating two 14-seater electric shuttles to Ateneo de Manila University to expand its pioneering e-shuttle fleet. Since its introduction in 2014, the Ateneo e-shuttle system has become an essential component of campus mobility, accommodating an average of 32,328 monthly passengers as of August 2024. The addition of these two new e-shuttles from ARTHALAND will increase service capacity, reduce commuter waiting times, and go a long way in helping Ateneo minimize its carbon footprint and improve traffic flow inside the campus.

“We believe that sustainability must extend beyond our developments and into the communities we serve. Through this donation, ARTHALAND also reaffirms its role as an active partner in advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the areas of sustainable cities and communities, climate action, and good health and well-being,” said Oliver L. Chan, Senior Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer.

This initiative reflects ARTHALAND’s ongoing commitment to supporting Ateneo, building on its previous assistance to student-athletes. More importantly, it highlights the shared vision between ARTHALAND’s advocacy for sustainable urban living and Ateneo’s mission to champion environmental stewardship within and beyond its campus.

“The more I learn about ARTHALAND, the more I realize this partnership is rooted in shared interest and values. Many of your values, shown not just in words but in results, reflect the core values of Ateneo,” said Rodolfo P. Ang, Vice President for Administration, Ateneo de Manila University.

The donation also complements ARTHALAND’s newest development, Liv, a sustainable residential community located directly across the Ateneo campus in Katipunan. Liv will be connected to Ateneo through a dedicated pedestrian walkway that will provide students, faculty, and residents with a convenient and eco-friendly commuting option.

“If Ateneo were a real estate developer, we hope we would be the kind of developer you are: deeply committed to sustainability, and imbued with the spirit of magis in all of your projects.” Mr. Ang said.

ARTHALAND consistently goes beyond what is required, driven by its commitment to creating a positive and lasting impact for future generations. As the only real estate developer in the Philippines with a 100% certified sustainable portfolio, ARTHALAND demonstrates that profitability and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand. Its philosophy centers on building sustainable legacies—boutique, world-class developments designed with uncompromising standards of excellence, wellness, and sustainability. By exceeding both global and local benchmarks, ARTHALAND ensures that every project meets today’s needs, safeguards the environment, and enriches communities for generations to come.

“As one of the biggest locators in the area, we are very happy that ARTHALAND is joining our Loyola Heights community, and we are most glad to welcome you as our next-door neighbor,” adds Mr. Ang.

The 46-storey Liv North, comprised of 748 residential units, is the first of Liv’s two sustainable residential towers and is scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2031. To learn more about Liv, visit www.arthaland.com.
