As a Mentee
She honors the “living legends” of Filipino culture, training under Maestra Evelyn Mandac and Maestro Michael Dadap to ensure their musical legacies are preserved and documented.
Cox defines stewardship as the active transfer of knowledge from one generation to the next. Her goal is to do this by spreading positivity, inspiring curiosity, and instilling pride.
She honors the “living legends” of Filipino culture, training under Maestra Evelyn Mandac and Maestro Michael Dadap to ensure their musical legacies are preserved and documented.
She creates worldwide events for both her local community and an international audience where she empowers the next generation of thinkers.
Through her traveling “Filipino Textiles” exhibits, she educates the diaspora on traditional weaving techniques, ensuring that the craftsmanship of indigenous communities continues to thrive in a modern world. Her “Art Nelson Left Behind” is an humanistic exhibit that creates a dialogue about the precious objects that immigrants leave behind and the stories these tell about memory, identity, and connection.
Cox advocates for using art, music, and culture as a universal language to build, and bridge, communities. Her work has been featured by the National Museum of the Philippines, Philippine Consulate in New York, SOAS University of London, 14th Global Nonviolent Film Festival, Wing Luke Museum, and other international venues proving that when we elevate our culture, we attract the kind of global investment and curiosity that drives sustainable development.
